Medard Ngueita
Executive Director, World Relief Western Washington
Medard Ngueita is originally from Chad and was granted asylum with his family into the United States in 2007. He began his journey with World Relief Western Washington as a program participant, the very organization he is now leading, as the Executive Director. Medard initially started his professional life in the Hospitality industry, and later took on leadership roles. However, he had a heart for serving the most vulnerable, and five years later he joined World Relief Western Washington as an employee. Over the course of eleven years, Medard has developed a close understanding of refugee resettlement and held positions of increasing responsibility. These included Donations Coordinator, Housing Coordinator, Resettlement Manager, Resettlement Director, and now as the Executive Director of World Relief’s Seattle, Bellingham, and Olympia offices.
Medard holds a Master of Arts Degree in International Community Development from Northwest University and a Bachelor’s in Human Geography from the University of Ngaoundéré in Cameroon. He has completed a Certificate in High-Performance Leadership from Cornell University and a variety of other Leadership training programs. Medard has also served on the very first King County Refugee and Immigrant Commission. In 2008, he was a participant and delegate at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Medard was also an adjunct faculty to graduate students in Culture Studies in the Globalized Context at Northwest University.
Medard runs the advisory board for World Relief Western Washington, and he also sits on the Seattle Pacific University Board of Trustees as well.
Medard is a powerful orator. In 2022 he was Seattle Pacific University’s Undergraduate Commencement Speaker. He continues to speak at other engagements, universities, and conferences across the country.
Medard believes in a just world where any open door of opportunity should create opportunities for many, no matter where they come from. He firmly believes that excellence in leadership arises through collaboration, contextualization, and copowerment and appreciates that every human being has God given talents and abilities to contribute to a better world.
Medard and his wife Giselle are blessed to be raising four beautiful boys.
